  • Notes
    • Name listed in grandfather, Peter Shrout's will, 24 Jul 1804, to inherit the entire plantation DEATH: Grant Co., W. Va, Will Book 1-3, probated 11 Jun 1866 SOURCE: The Shrout Family &Their Descendents, pg 48, lists birth date, marriage date, wife's name, ages at marriage, wife's father, George's death date, children-based on census records and George'swill There were two Peters, the younger died in Kentucky the elder did indeed kill his wife. Why Samuel and Gasper weren't listed on the will is a good question, they both did live in Kentuckyand it seems as though they were both self sufficient. The will does list George, Sr. but basically the bulk went to George Jr. his grandson and the rest to his 3 daughters. All the heirsstill lived in Virginia. Maybe this is the explanation? Age and Location.
